... I felt this quote ...
"If I had my way, I'd remove January from the calendar altogether and have an extra July instead."
~ Roald Dahl ~
... sweet summertime ... oh, how I love thee, lol ...
July has arrived, signifying the peak of summer and ushering in a celebratory spirit that beckons us to bask in every moment of sunshine! It's a time for ongoing growth, thrilling opportunities, and the delight of summer in its full glory!
Encountering someone who appears perpetually happy is quite an experience. I've met such individuals, and admittedly, there have been moments when I've felt the urge to shake them out of their constant cheerfulness. As they smile and radiate 'happiness,' I can't help but wonder, what's the secret to their ever-present joy? Is it a result of their lifestyle or simply a mindset?
Happiness involves the capacity to recognize and accept all emotions, including the less pleasant ones. It's about understanding the broader perspective instead of becoming mired in the minutiae.
Do you feel happiness is a lifestyle or mindset?
Smokedogg feels it is more of a mindset, I, on the other hand, feels it's a lifestyle. Here's one of the agree to disagree moments we blogged about previously, lol.
Smokedogg, why mindset? "I feel it's all in how you think, if you think happiness, you feel it, just like depression, if you think it, you'll feel it! It's about how you perceive and react to your circumstances!"
Me, why lifestyle? "Happiness as a lifestyle involves the choices and habits you incorporate into your daily life!"
Indeed, happiness is a combination of mindset and lifestyle. A positive mindset often leads to lifestyle choices that foster happiness, while a lifestyle centered around joy can strengthen a positive mindset. For instance, embracing gratitude as a mindset can cultivate deeper relationships, a lifestyle choice that may boost overall happiness.
I regard myself as happy, and so does Smokedogg! Fortunately, we're in good company; more than 67% of Americans view themselves as happy. Happiness is a choice and a mindset. With only one life to live, it's essential to make it count, pursue happiness, and cultivate it as a lifestyle.
Random happiness fact:
Research has determined most people are happiest at 7:26 PM on Saturday night, lol!
Random thought of the day:
If you live to be 70 years old, you will spend ten years of your life on Monday, lol!
Health tip:
To enhance your health, increase energy levels, or improve your mood, start exercising! Regular physical activity offers numerous benefits for your physical and mental well-being. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services recommends that adults engage in at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity weekly, or 75 minutes of vigorous aerobic activity, to see a positive effect on their health.
Wellness tip:
Maintaining a gratitude journal can significantly enhance happiness, wellness, and health. Regularly noting down three to five positive events or aspects you're thankful for—whether weekly, daily, or even several times a day—can amplify the beneficial effects.
